  • Water Parameters:
    • Temperature: Maintain a stable temperature between 75-80°F (24-27°C).
    • pH: Keep the pH level within the range of 8.1-8.4. 
       
    • Salinity: Specific gravity should be maintained at 1.025. 
    • Water Changes: Regular water changes (10-20% weekly) are important for maintaining overall water quality. 
       
    • Nitrates/Phosphates: While zoanthids can tolerate some nitrates and phosphates, keeping them as low as possible (ideally near zero) is recommended. 
    Lighting:
    • Intensity: Zoanthids can tolerate a wide range of lighting conditions, from low to high, but generally prefer moderate light. 
    • Acclimation: Slowly acclimate zoanthids to new lighting to prevent stress. 
       
    • PAR: Aim for a PAR level between 80-150. 
    Water Flow:
    • Type: Moderate to high indirect water flow is ideal. Avoid blasting the polyps directly.

    • Benefits: Adequate flow helps prevent detritus buildup and keeps the polyps clean. 

       

      Feeding 
    • Photosynthesis:
      Zoanthids primarily obtain nutrition through photosynthesis via their symbiotic zooxanthellae.
