Saron marmoratus also knowns as the Saron Shrimp, typically shows a body that is somewhat translucent with various colouration, they may exhibit shades of white, green, brown, and red, this helps them blend into their coral reef and sandy habitats and can grow up to 8cm, but their size may depend on their environment.

Saron shrimps are typically found in marine environments, particularly in shallow coastal waters and coral reefs. They can inhabit various substrates, including sand, rubble, and rocky areas. They are primarily detritivores and scavengers feeding on decaying organic matter, algae, small organic particles, and other debris present in their environment. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications and are sensitive to salinity changes. Magnesium and Iodine are important components for shrimp as they need these for molting.
