Panulirus versicolor also known as the Painted Cray or Blue spiny lobster, shows a reddish-brown to orange background colour with a pattern of white, yellow, and blue spots, lines, and markings on their exoskeleton and can grow up to 40cm in length.
Panulirus Lobsters inhabit rocky and coral reef environments in tropical and subtropical waters. They are often found hiding in crevices and holes in the reef during the day and are more active at night. Panulirus Lobsters are primarily scavengers and opportunistic feeders. They feed on a variety of items such as algae, detritus, small invertebrates, and carrion. Their diet can vary depending on what is available in their habitat. It’s essential to avoid using copper-based treatments in a tank with invertebrates, as it can harm them.
