Pomacanthus Angelfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of rock work, caves, cracks and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. Pomacanthus angels may pick at sponge, tunicates, benthic organisms or sessile invertebrates. A diet of meaty and algae based foods along with Angel preperations which include sponge should be provided. Care will need to be taken when handling Angelfish as they have cheekspines, avoid using nets when handling. Pomacanthus Angelfish are hermaphroditic meaning they may have both sex organs at some point in their lives. Juvenile Pomacanthus Angelfish may exhibit colour or pattern differences. May be territorial towards other Angelfish with the same shape.

The Emperor Angelfish is also known as the Emperor or Imperial Angelfish. The juvenile is a dark blue with white circular stripes. Adults are quite different differently coloured. Their bodies are a beautiful blue with horizontal yellow stripes. Adults have a white mouth, yellow tail and blue to black mask over its eyes. Emperor Angelfish can grow up to 33cm in length.

We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 1000L or larger for this species.
